|  | A large volume of compelling scientific data from many clinical trials have proven and effectiveness and safety of cholesterol treatment in patients with and without heart disease, and patients with high, normal and even low levels.

In patients with heart disease, cholesterol treatment (simvastatin) reduced stroke by 30%, fatal heart attack by 42%, heart bypass by 37% compared to those that took placebo.

In patients without heart disease, cholesterol treatment (lovastatin) reduced fatal heart attack by 40% and heart bypass by 33% compared to placebo.
